Tooth Extraction

Tooth Extraction

Tooth extraction is the process of removing the tooth from its socket called the socket in the bone. Tooth extraction is divided into simple and surgical tooth extraction. Simple tooth extraction is the technique used to extract visible teeth in the mouth under local anesthesia. It consists of the surgical extraction of impacted and semi-impacted teeth in extractions that require surgery. Also, in some cases, there may be bone on the tooth that needs to be removed.

When is Tooth Extraction done?

  • If teeth damaged due to decay or fracture cannot be treated with filling, root canal treatment, crown or any other treatment method.
  • If the bone tissue supporting the tooth has been lost due to gingival disease, if the tooth has started to wobble and the tooth cannot be saved with gingival treatment.
  • If there are milk teeth that do not fall out when the time comes.
  • To save space for orthodontic treatment.
  • If there are impacted teeth, especially third molars (20 years old), they may need to be extracted if they cause congestion, bruises or pain in the jaws, or if the side teeth are damaged.
